Chiropractic is effective in treating back pain, neck pain, headaches, as well as arm & leg pain. Chiropractors find that most back problems have their source in poorly functioning spinal joints. By restoring good mobility to these joints, chiropractic spinal manipulation enables the surrounding nerves, muscles, ligaments and tendons to function at their best, relieving muscle spasms and allowing inflamed soft tissues to return to normal.
Gentle manipulation of the spine is usually not painful. Most patients find significant relief for their symptoms within 3 to 6 treatments. In addition to traditional chiropractic care, the Chiropractic Center of Farmington also offers massage therapy. This facilitates the healing process by releasing muscle spasms and bringing blood to the affected area. It is Dr. Meadow’s experience that the combination of chiropractic and massage therapy is the best approach to healing bad backs.
Most people (including orthopaedists) believe that most back pain is caused by problems with the muscles. It is certainly true that muscle spasms and strains play a role in back pain, but they are rarely the source of the problem. You can mask the pain associated with muscular injury with analgesics and anti-inflammatory medications, but you cannot treat the underlying mechanical source of back pain with hot packs or chemicals.

Nutritional consultation is also available. The emphasis here is on making modifications to your diet.
A good massage is a far better way to treat muscular pain than muscle-relaxants could ever be.
